We accept PPO plans, which let you see a specialist without a referral and give you the widest choice of surgeon. HMO plans are not accepted. Speak with a patient advocate and we will verify your benefits before your visit.

Mountain Spine & Orthopedics is a PPO practice. If your plan is a PPO with one of the carriers below, you can usually see a specialist without a referral. HMO plans are not accepted.

- Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO: Accepted. PPO plans accepted across our locations. No referral needed to see a specialist.
- UnitedHealthcare PPO: Accepted. PPO plans accepted across our locations. No referral needed to see a specialist.
- Cigna PPO: Accepted. PPO plans accepted across our locations. No referral needed to see a specialist.
- Aetna PPO: Accepted. PPO plans accepted across our locations. No referral needed to see a specialist.
- Meritain Health PPO: Accepted. PPO plans accepted across our locations.
- MultiPlan / PHCS PPO: Accepted. Accepted as a PPO network partner across our locations.
- Bright Health PPO: Accepted. PPO plans accepted across our locations.
- Workers’ Compensation: Accepted. Handled separately from PPO benefits. We treat work-related injuries and coordinate directly with adjusters and case managers.
- Auto / Personal Injury (PIP): Accepted. Handled separately from PPO benefits. We treat auto-accident injuries and can work with your attorney where a letter of protection applies.
- HMO plans (any carrier): Not accepted. We are a PPO practice and do not accept HMO plans — including HMO products from carriers whose PPO plans we do accept. If you are unsure which you have, your member card usually states it.
- Medicare: Partially accepted. We do not participate in Medicare for spine surgery. Other orthopedic services may be available — please call so we can check before you book.
- Medicaid: Partially accepted. We do not participate in Medicaid for spine surgery. Other orthopedic services may be available — please call so we can check before you book.
- Medicare or Medicaid HMO: Not accepted. We do not participate in Medicare or Medicaid HMO plans. Your plan administrator can point you to an in-network orthopedic provider.

Furthermore, Mountain Spine & Orthopedics does not participate in Medicare & Medicaid programs in relation to spine surgery coverage. This decision is based on various administrative and policy considerations. Patients covered under Medicare & Medicaid are advised to consult with their plan administrators for alternative options for spine and orthopedic care.
